| Normally, an open Cash Bar is available at
our Dances. However this is not always the case. Some halls are not
licensed
for bars. Usually in these cases, our dances are BYOB. In some cases,
set-ups
are provided by the hall. The post card notices that we send out 2
weeks
prior to each dance to those on our mailing list, specify the situation
for that individual dance.
When we have Dinners as a part of our Dance, it is because the hall requires it, or because it makes the hall rental price fit our needs. The Board decides when planning the dance, what meal to have and what the charge will be. Our dinner charges always include tax and tip, and are reasonable, but generally not refundable. Dinner selection is specified on the reservation letter that goes out 3 weeks prior to the dinner/dance. The host couple for that dance can also be contacted for details. Some halls allow food to be carried in, and sometimes we use these halls to have a carry-in hors d'ourves table. Members bring their own concoctions such as meat balls, salsa and chips, cheese balls, cookies, etc. These events have proved popular, and there always seems to be more than enough to eat. |
